Welcome to Acts 2:42
Hi, my name is Bob Boyett, the creator, webmaster, publisher, host, copywriter and chief bottle washer of Lockdown Warriors. I am blessed to have the knowledge and skills to create this website and it is why I choose to use them in creating and managing this ministry. This website was birthed by the pandemic turning evil into something good. The pandemic not only imprisoned a mass of Christians it uncovered a category of Christians that have never been recognized much less supported. The pinnacle of the pandemic has passed, but the existence of a Christian community of lock downed warriors still exists.
I believe there are allot of God’s children who hear that same call, but feel they can’t answer it like Isiah did; due to their lock down circumstances. By God’s Grace, I hope and pray you will break free of your lock down and join me in this ministry by telling God, “here I am Lord, send me”.
We Need Fellowship
but how
By meeting online at a set time. The meeting objective would be to follow Acts 2:42 and be governed by 1st Corinthians 14.
- before meeting prepare a meal
- while preparing your meal, pray over the meeting
- be prepared to not only listen to a bunch of people filled with the Holy Ghost, but while gnawing on a turkey leg.
- fellowship
- praying
- and enjoying the “Lord’s Supper”.
I know by referencing 1st Corinthians 14 I have set up an opportunity for a debate. So, lets nip that in the bud here and now.
1Co 14:1 Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives especially the ability to prophesy. This is the main subject of this entire chapter and it will be the main focus of these meetings.
1Co 14:2 For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.
1Co 14:3 But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them.
1Co 14:4 A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church. The latter is the focal point for this meeting.
1 Corinthians 14 is about receiving and expressing messages from God. It provides guidelines for everyone to speak in an orderly fashion in an assembly. The first two items in the list above is preparing a meal while praying over the meeting. That prayer time offers you time to cleanse your heart before God and an opportunity for God to give you a prophecy (message) for the assembly. That was how church was originally conducted; a person read the Word and the congregation followed with prophecy and discussion in an orderly fashion. How awesome would it be to attend a church meeting like that. It’s called fellowship and now we can fellowship in the same manner.
The focus of the meeting is fellowship, prophecy, prayer and breaking of bread. If you feel you must debate tongues, you can do it privately by breaking into a chatroom with those who wish to debate the topic. Violating this may result in removal from the meeting. Thank you for understanding.
